The Roulette
Commemorative monument in Burgundy stone, 40 - Landes
During the Second World War, the La Roulette site served as a location for clandestine parachute drops in support of the local Resistance. Between 1943 and 1944, Allied aircraft carried out nighttime drops of weapons, equipment, and essential supplies intended for Resistance networks in the area. These operations, conducted in the utmost secrecy, relied on local inhabitants who risked their lives to recover and conceal the supplies. This monument pays tribute to the courage and commitment of all those who acted from this discreet site.
