The Butter Fountain

Restoration of the Butter Fountain, 65 - Campan

Dated 1628, the Butter Fountain is considered one of the oldest sculpted fountains in the département. A true historical landmark, it is an emblematic element of the heritage of the town of Campan, closely linked to village life and local identity. The restoration of this fountain was carried out with particular care to respect the original structure. In order to preserve its unity and authenticity, the stone carving work was executed using Payolle marble (a local marble), chosen to ensure perfect consistency in material, color, and texture. This intervention forms part of a heritage conservation approach, aiming to extend the presence and legibility of this historic monument at the heart of the town.
