The Viewpoint
Solid Burgundy stone entrance staircase, 40 - Landes
For this entrance staircase providing access to a terrace overlooking the meadows and the horizon, we worked with the client to choose solid natural stone steps, suited to the château’s architecture. The step nosings were shaped with astragal mouldings, echoing the moulded base courses found in the surrounding architecture. The choice of Burgundy stone came naturally, ensuring visual continuity with the adjacent travertine terrace. The use of solid stone enhances the architectural presence of the whole and affirms the noble, durable character of this structure, conceived as a true opening onto the landscape.
